FAQ
Many companies searching for engineering resources are in this situation. Recruiting, hiring and training new employees can be a very costly endeavor so it is imperative that you choose your candidates carefully. SDW offers a “try before you buy” solution to technical resource placement. We provide short-term contracts for our resources and then waive the “recruiter fee” when you’re ready to bring people on-board. This gives you the flexibility to work with a resource before you commit to hiring them.
SDW is a cross-disciplinary design house, which means expertise in mechanical, electrical, controls and software engineering. Our team is capable of supporting your project needs from a simple component or iPhone app, all the way to a fully integrated electro-mechanical machine for optimizing your manufacturing processes and WMS. (We even provide industrial design services for consumer products!)
SDW offers mechanical engineering support in a variety of CAD packages including: SolidWorks, ProE, NX, AutoCAD & AutoDesk. For SolidWorks specific projects, all SDW engineers are certified professionals (CSWP). We also offer analysis services using both standalone programs (ANSYS, Abaqus & FlowNEX) and specialized add-ins for CAD packages.
At SDW we offer the same capabilities of a full machine shop or print house only our shop uses the same engineers who worked on your design team for fabrication. All SDW engineers are trained in the use of fabrication and prototyping equipment to ensure manufacturing considerations are incorporated into the design from the start.
This holistic approach is unique in the fabrication world as it enables our team to anticipate design features which could result in costly manufacturing challenges before wasting time & material in the shop.
Teamwork is the only way we create the breakthroughs that define our career.”
